“My oldest daughter was not in favor of changing schools when the decision was made to move to Boonville. Father Bob encouraged her to really think about joining the class of which she would be a part. She knew the choice was hers because I drive to Jefferson City each day and their school was right across the street from my work. Reluctantly, she decided to change schools. This was very hard and she second guessed herself all that summer. I will never forget to first time I brought her meet some of her classmates. She asked not to leave her until she was comfortable. It didn’t take a second and they welcomed her in with open arms. As much as she was going to miss her friends, she knew for sure she was going to be ok….and truthfully a lot of guilt was lifted from me. I so terribly miss my kids being at school right across the street from my work. I don’t get to be lunch helper, drop in for all the masses they have a part in or come to every party at school. But I will sadly give that up to have had my kids experience this school family. I can’t say enough about how big this schools arms were in welcoming her to this class.
